The Configuration Management and Data Management (CMDM) organization is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. The CMDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers.
The Data Management Department is seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to fill a Section Leader position.
This position is in McKinney, TX (On-site)
The Section Leader will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 15 – 20 Data Management (DM) professionals, and performing a range of DM and engineering support tasks on multiple programs.
What You Will Do
Influence and lead a team through strong communication and engagement
Actively engage with all Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads for assigned programs to ensure that Data Management is actively represented within the program
Assist in the development of action plans to address key focus areas
Technically support program milestones and contribute to successful reviews and customer interchanges
Identify and elevate, when required, technical execution risks (including technical discipline, technical performance, cost and schedule performance) to program and functional management
Meet the team’s committed schedule, cost, and performance requirements
Provide program and functional management insight into the health of the team’s technical execution
Conduct performance/career development discussions, including plans for employee improvement
Coach and mentor, technically and personally, to ensure employee success
Define and manage team staffing needs
Ensures the team understands and follows proper company media
Collaborating with the CMDM Leadership teams on goals and strategy
Create innovative solutions for customer and company initiatives
Recognize and provide appropriate team and individual rewards and recognition
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience, OR in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
Experience with government standards and processes, such as described in EIA-649, Configuration Management Standard and GEIA-859, Data Management Standard
Experience with generating Data Management productivity metrics, reports, and managing data management cost and schedule
Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools
The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Value:
Experienced in Windchill or similar product data management tools
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Able to generate and deliver customer presentations
Ability to interpret scheduling and milestone requirements
Collaborate in a team-based environment consisting of organizational and outside customer contacts to meet project goals.

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
