As the Environment, Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor you will have responsibilities across an incredible portfolio of operations and works. You will be passionate about contributing with every interaction and making a difference to our health, safety and wellbeing culture. You will be responsible for the day-to-day effectiveness and improvement of the company’s EHS Management system, by partnering with and understanding the unique needs of company operations, Programs and Sites. You will assist in the provision of a safe work environment by targeting best practice levels of safety and legislative compliance in an environment of continuous improvement. This is predominately a boots on the ground role, and includes providing advice, coordination and activities across all levels of business operations, and partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders on environment, health, safety & wellbeing matters. You will fold your operational insights and investigative findings into our EHSW Management System and projects to create a healthy and safe operating rhythm and feedback loop.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including health & safety representatives, varied workgroups, customer representatives and sub-contractors.
- Contribute to and facilitate implementation and improvement of policies, plans, procedures and processes, including high quality reporting.
- Partner with Programs and Sites to support and facilitate the application of the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Control process at the working level, in a manner that supports the specific operational needs of the jurisdiction.
- Partner with leaders and managers to proactively respond to environment, health and safety issues before and as they arise, including undertaking investigations following incidents or occurrences to determine likely causes, corrective actions and improvement opportunities and control effectiveness.
- Proactively promote and coordinate program engagement processes and initiatives to deliver the company’s Environment, Health and Safety Plan.
- Be an effective team member of a geographically diverse team.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- Requires a University Degree in Workplace Health & Safety or similar discipline or suitable experience.
- Occupational Hygiene / Industrial Hygiene or Environmental qualifications and experience highly desirable.
- Previous experience making improvements to processes, systems or products to enhance performance of the work area.
- Auditing experience and knowledge of 45001, 14001 and OFSC would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience with Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience with Critical Control Management would be highly regarded.
- ICAM Lead Investigator training or suitable experience.
- Requires advanced knowledge of environment, health and safety and risk management work areas.
